MN River Valley Scenic Overlooks
Enjoy the vista of the Minnesota River Valley and the village of Henderson from two different scenic overlooks on the Ney property. Designed by John Koepke and his University of Minnesota landscape architecture students, the overlooks were inspired by gathering circles. Built with Kasota stone donated by Unimin Mining Corporation, the center of each overlook has a stone compass pointing to the four cardinal directions. One overlook is south of the original Ney farm site on the old Oxcart Trail, the other northwest of the Education Building. A fire ring east of the Education Building was also designed and built by Koepke and his students. The fire ring is typically used by groups who use the building.
