The Ney Nature Center invites members and the broader community to join us for our upcoming Annual Meeting on Saturday, May 2nd at 10:00 am; an opportunity to reflect on a year of meaningful impact and to look ahead to exciting new initiatives. This year’s gathering will feature a special guest speaker Kristy Cowdin, Ecologist & Conservation Specialist with Great River Greening, who will share insights into their organization’s mission and the important role they play in restoring and protecting Minnesota’s natural landscapes. Their work aligns closely with our own commitment to stewardship, education, and hands-on conservation at Ney.
A highlight of the morning will be a preview of several upcoming habitat restoration projects within the park, made possible in partnership with Great River Greening through funding from the Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources (LCCMR). Through our partnership with Great River Greening, these projects will enhance biodiversity, restore native ecosystems, and strengthen the ecological health of the Ney Wildlife Preserve. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how these efforts will shape the future of the land and how the community can be part of that work.
In addition to this special presentation, the Annual Meeting will include the election of board members and the presentation of our annual report, including fiscal financials. This is an important moment of transparency and shared governance, and we encourage all members as well as anyone interested in the mission of the Ney Nature Center to attend. Whether you are a longtime supporter or new to our community, we welcome you to join us for a morning of connection, learning, and inspiration.
