As someone with a January birthday, I know just how challenging it can be to plan a great party in the midst of frigid temperatures. From too much or not enough snow to the high cost of popular indoor activities, there are several variables that make it difficult to effectively celebrate during the winter. If you are feeling these same struggles, check out all of the reasons why Ney is an excellent place to host a winter birthday party!
- Birthday party packages include your choice of a hands on nature themed activity.
At birthday parties, our staff lead a 60 minute activity with up to 20 participants. With the exception of a couple summer themes, these activities are great for all ages of birthday people and their guests. If weather allows and a group is feeling adventurous, they could enjoy some frosty fun by exploring the park on cross-country skis or snowshoes. Or, if the group would prefer some cozy time inside, they could meet our animal ambassadors or learn all about Minnesota’s mammals. There are several activity themes to meet the interests of any party group.

- Birthday party packages also include rental time in the Education Building.
In addition to your 60 minute activity, your party group can spend up to three hours in the Education Building. This time is great for opening presents, eating a premade meal or snacks, and socializing. Your group can set up our 10 tables and 70 chairs in any way that best suits them during this time.
- Ney is a short drive from several local communities.
In 2025, we had groups from over 10 different towns visit Ney for their building rental or party. Several groups reported that Henderson is a great meet-in-the-middle location for family members who are spread throughout this area. Once your family visits Ney for a birthday party, our park can serve as a great location for future parties or a simple outdoor get together during warmer months.
- Members receive a discount on birthday party packages.
Although the full price of our birthday party package is affordable, we offer members a $30 discount to thank them for their support. After being introduced to Ney during the birthday party, you can use your membership to receive discounts on our programs, summer camps, and any future building rentals. Membership is a great way to support our ability to inspire appreciation and respect for nature in our community, while also receiving some great benefits.
- Birthday parties are easy to reserve.
If you’re excited and ready to reserve a birthday party package, all you need to do is contact us at info@neycenter.org. We’ll confirm the availability of your date and discuss activity preferences. From there, you’ll fill out paperwork and make your payment, then you’ll be on your way to a memorable birthday party.
